HERON Quivira reinstates the Human Subjects Training check and presents email flags
HERON Quivira release checks the new CITI Human Subjects Training program. If your training has lapsed, you will have until July 1, 2015 to complete it. After July 1, your HERON access will be terminated if training is not in compliance.
Want to know how many patients meeting your search criteria have email addresses on file? HERON Quivira release includes a searchable flag for either IDX (billing) or O2 (electronic medical record) recorded email addresses.
In an effort to facilitate your data analysis, this release will allow for data limited to modifiers. Previously, your data set would include any modifier attached to the patient observation. For example, if you wanted an inpatient medication, such as Clopidogrel, you would receive any observation associated with that medication (e.g., inpatient order, dose, historical medication, and more). Now, if you only want the data associated with one of the modifiers, such as outpatient order, your dataset will include only outpatient order observations. All modifiers are still available for a search concept. The data will reflect your search. If you pull a modifier into your search, you will receive observations for that modifier only. If you don't limit the modifier in the search, you will receive all modifier observations for that concept.

Beta Disclaimer
We are providing this early access to obtain feedback from you, the research community. While we are actively working on validating the data loaded into the system with hospital and clinic technical staff, there may be problems with our translation of data from our source systems (HospitalEpicSource and ClinicIdxSource) into HERON.
Please email us at heron-admin@kumc.edu if you discover information you believe may be erroneous.
We are actively working on enhancing the types of data included. Stay tuned to our roadmap to track progress toward upcoming releases.
Various Issues Still Apply
