HERON Dora add detailed Frontiers Flag and 10 years of Trauma Data

HERON Dora includes updates to the Frontiers Research Participant Registry information. Frontiers is a recruitment registry of patients at KUMC who have agreed to be contacted for research. Researchers are able to search for patients in the registry who meet their clinical inclusion and exclusion criteria. To search for these patients, look in the demographics folder under "Frontiers Research Participant Registry." Patients are listed as "Do Not Contact," "Ok to Contact," and "Unknown to Contact." To search for patients who have signed up for the registry, only pull over the term "Ok to Contact." "Unknown to Contact" indicates that they have not been approached about participating in the Frontiers previously.

The trauma registry data has been updated to include data from 2006-2016. Users will find this data in the main HERON hierarchy under the folder "Trauma Registry." Trauma Registry modifiers are also included in the procedure folder under the ICD9 and ICD10 procedure hierarchies.

Need help with HERON? Join the Frontiers Lunch and Learn which meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month from 12:00 - 1:30 PM in room 3001D Student Center. Register in advance if possible but drop-ins are welcome.

Any publication that results from a project utilizing HERON should cite grant support (CTSA Award # UL1TR000001).

Beta Disclaimer

We are providing this early access to obtain feedback from you, the research community. While we are actively working on validating the data loaded into the system with hospital and clinic technical staff, there may be problems with our translation of data from our source systems (HospitalEpicSource and ClinicIdxSource) into HERON.

Please email us at heron-admin@kumc.edu if you discover information you believe may be erroneous.

We are actively working on enhancing the types of data included. Stay tuned to our roadmap to track progress toward upcoming releases.
